Commonwealth Games Overview

And there we have it, the first week of the Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow has ended along with the swimming programme at the Tollcross Aquatics Center.

The Games have been a huge success for Ross with a range of personal bests, Commonwealth, British and Scottish records. Ross has come away with a Gold and Bronze medal, and made all four of his finals, finishing 6th in the 50m breaststroke and the Scottish team finishing 7th in the 4x100m medley relay.

After finally being able to get away from the pool and enjoy his successes, Ross was invited onto Tonight at the Games hosted by Clare Balding and Mark Chapman. Having not been able to get a hold of Ross for the week due to a strict schedule, Clare was almost bursting to announce that they had him on the show.

On the show, Ross' victory was discussed as well as the two most notable pictures of the Games up to that point - his face of astonishment after winning and his overwhelming emotion on the podium.

"I just couldn't hold it together, just having the home crowd singing your national anthem to you stood on top of that podium was something I will never forget, it was amazing for me."

Ross has been out on the streets of Glasgow today along with other fellow Scottish swimmers for photo opportunities and to take in the atmosphere. Soon, he will get back to his coach plan his next step and look onward to the next meet later this Summer.
