BBC Sports Personality of the Year

Yesterday Glasgow hosted the 2014 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards at the SSE Hydro. Winners of the event included F1 star Lewis Hamilton taking Sports Personality of the Year, with runners up Rory McIlroy and Jo Pavey, and Sir Chris Hoy taking the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other winners included:

  • Overseas Sports Personality of the Year: Cristiano Ronaldo
  • Young Sports Personality of the Year: Claudia Fragapane
  • Helen Rollason Award: The Invictus Games Competitors
  • Sport's Unsung Hero: Jill Stidever

Ross had the privilege of presenting the Young Sports Personality of the Year award alongside Nicola Adams, Olympic Boxing Gold Medalist, which went to Claudia Fragapane, the first British woman in 84 years to win four gold medals at one Commonwealth Games.

The presentation wasn't without minor hiccup, as Ross' scottie refused to walk onto the stage to present the award. Luckily Ross was able to comfortably carry the nervous pup on with him and continue with the awards without delay,

"@ChrisCbest442 uch the wee thing was frightened so it needed a hand and a friendly face to help out haha", Ross Murdoch on twitter.
